Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from personal equity agency Silverfleet Capital.

Headquartered in Wangen within the Allgäu area of Germany, Pumpenfabrik Wangen specialises in progressive cavity pumps used mainly within the biogas and wastewater sectors, and twin-screw pumps for food and beverage and cosmetics purposes.
Pumpenfabrik Wangen has manufacturing services in Germany, a US subsidiary and a worldwide gross sales and service footprint. The company employs 265 folks and had 2020 revenues of approximately €46.four million.
“Industrial pumps is a phase that we have recognized as a strategic fit for Atlas Copco and Wangen Pumpen has main differentiated know-how with a strong aftermarket enterprise,” mentioned Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s Power Technique enterprise space. “Wangen Pumpen is a strong model and is understood for quality in demanding industrial applications. This acquisition will create a strong foundation for further growth in new industrial pump segments.”

The deal is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2022 and is topic to regulatory approvals.
